Auto Insurance

Tom Needham Insurance has been offering better prices and the best in service in North Carolina, Virginia and South Carolina for 18 years. As an independent insurance agency, they shop many of the top insurance companies in the United States and find the perfect plan for each person or company represented.

Recently Tom Needham Insurance partnered with WSI to provide a responsive website, on-page search engine optimization and local SEO. This investment in their online capabilities will enhance their level of customer service, making a dedicated effort to be found on any device and across multiple channels. This also gave their customers the ability to provide all their information and get rapid quotes online over a secure, trusted site.

After the initial keyword research was completed, additional pages, plus a blog, were added to their site for a better user experience and proper optimization. WSI also assisted with relevant content and optimized copywriting. In two months, seven new pages are being shown on page one of search results. Three examples are found below:

https://www.tomneedhaminsurance.com/homeowners-insurance/

https://www.tomneedhaminsurance.com/ho-3-vs-he-721-comparison/

https://www.tomneedhaminsurance.com/blog/

Now the primary focus will be on off-page optimization, including citation building and increased customer reviews. WSI will also provide relevant posts for their blogs created at Tumblr, WordPress and Blogger and posts for Google+ and their social channels.

Each month, WSI will analyze the progress made on the key performance indicators of the implementation and provide Tom Needham Insurance with reporting. These reports will allow them to easily see the success of these online projects and see if any changes need to be made in their overall strategy.

Why a Responsive Web Design Matters

Ken Bowden - Saturday, August 15, 2015

Why a Responsive Web Design Matters

Responsive web design. It’s a concept you’ve heard of but might not completely understand, especially if your use of technology is limited. While most business owners have taken the plunge and had a website built, the way that website is viewed on different pieces of technology is different. From computer to computer and web browser to web browser, things generally look the same. But when you start to view a website on a smartphone or tablet, all of which vary in size, things start to get a little bit messy.

With responsive web design, your website can sense what type of device is trying to view it. It can alter the format and show a website design that is appropriate for a different type of device. Your responsive web design, or mobile format, may be completely different from your personal computer format, but with such a large percentage of people doing mobile searches it becomes critical for that display to be user friendly.

Google and Responsive Design

Believe it or not, whether or not your website has a responsive design now matters to the Google algorithm. Earlier this year, Google announced that mobile-friendly websites would receive higher ranking signals in their algorithms than those without it. The change was noted to be significant, meaning this is something a serious business owner really can’t ignore.

Responsive Designs are Flexible

A responsive web design is flexible. Once the basic format is set up, your website can adapt to any type of viewing device. You don’t necessarily have to design 3 or 4 different layouts and hope the right one hits. Someone viewing your website on a smartphone might see a single stream layout while someone on a tablet may see something with multiple columns, but perhaps still not as large as a full computer screen. The user experience is enhanced by the adaptability of your site. A prospective customer who can easily find relevant information about the products needed, is a happy, buying customer.

Oh, and it’s cost effective, too. In the past you actually used to have to design two separate websites – one for mobile and one for computer users. You can now manage all of your information on one site and it will adapt appropriately. Only one site for updates, for on-site SEO, and for off-site marketing.

Not sure if your website has a responsive design? We can help you find out and, of not, we can help you transform your website into a marketing tool guaranteed to bring you new business day in and day out. Just contact us to set up a consultation.

5 Local Search Marketing Mistakes to Avoid

5 Local Search Marketing Mistakes to Avoid

Marketing a local business is a little more difficult than marketing to a global audience. Your focus needs to be more specific, not only with your target audience but also within your geographic area. For best results with your local search marketing, try your best to avoid these mistakes.

  1. One Page for Multiple Locations – If your business has more than one location, you need to have more than one location page on your website (or local subpages); Facebook; Twitter; and any other platform. If it’s your corporate website, you can have a primary corporate address listed, but each location needs to be a separate page. That way, each can be marketed to the search engines separately and with the appropriate location-specific keywords.
  2. Unfriendly Communication – Communication and customer dialog is important to every business and it may be even more important to local business owners. No matter what type of fantastic content you create, though, you’ll have at least one or two people occasionally leave negative remarks. And even though it may be undeserved, your response should be postitive . Take a step back, take the high road and respond with friendliness and professionalism. Ask someone to read your response before you send it if you aren’t sure you’ve cooled down enough – or wait until the next day to reply.
  3. Forcing Content to Be Viral – We all want to have a blog post or piece of social media content become really popular and go viral. Unfortunately some local marketers are so inpatient, they take it as far as creating a piece of content that is forced and off-topic, which is really nothing more than a gimmick. Ultimately, any type of marketing that doesn’t actually build your brand, work at building their trust, or sell your product is a waste of your time and money – even if it is fun.
  4. You Forgot to List Your Business with Local DIrectories – Local business listing sites are incredibly important to your online marketing efforts. Google, Yelp, and a myriad of other local business directories should have at least the basics about your business. You don’t need to pay all of these sites for advertising, but you do need to have the same presence in multiple places so you can be found when people use the directories for searches.
  5. Spam, Spam, Spam – It’s more than canned ham. Don’t spam your own website with city or keyword tags. Allow them to occur naturally in the appropriate manner. The old practice of creating a list of words separated by commas and thinking your page is optimized is dead. Forget it. Create great content, naturally incorporate your keyword a couple of times, and call it a day.

WSI Partners with CM Furnaces – Lab and Production Furnace Manufacturer

Ken Bowden - Friday, July 17, 2015

WSI, the world’s largest internet marketing company, announces it has partnered with CM Furnaces (http://www.cmfurnaces.com), a worldwide manufacturer of lab and production furnaces for over 70 years.

CM Furnaces has established itself as the “Cadillac manufacturer” of furnaces for serious scientific research and production work. Used throughout labs and universities as well as in the metal injection molding and ceramics industries, all CM furnaces provide advanced features and a “no-shorcuts” design mindset making them quality and reliability standouts among all high temperature furnaces manufactured today.

WSI consulted on the design and development of this highly targeted website and online marketing program which is focused on brand recognition and lead generation for the 70 year old company. New marketing programs and custom content were created, weaving these new concepts into the visual and structural redesign of their existing website and all online brand properties.

CM Furnace Marketing Challenges

CM Furnaces had an extremely outdated, non-mobile friendly website, and no sophisticated understanding of digital marketing. Increased competition from lower priced offshore manufacturers convinced them that they needed to reinvigorate their brand and pursue a wider variety of marketing options.

Types of furnaces manufactured include:

WSI Brand development services for this client include a new mobile-friendly website designed to speak to customers in each industry that uses their many furnace lines. Also SEO services as part of its “Semantic Mapping” approach to on-page SEO.  With this approach a comprehensive study of product demand is conducted and mapped into a strategic architecture for the company website and all company web properties.  Quality Blog, graphic and video content is created and syndicated on external web properties including Tumblr, WordPress and BlogSpot in addition to hundreds of other social media and content hubs.

WSI’s Elite National Branding program is comprehensive.  By carefully customizing this content strategy through on-page and off-page activities, WSI has achieved amazing results through a highly conservative approach that has proved resistant to changes in Google’s search algorithm’s and even improved client visibility as less reputable SEO approaches cause competitors to disappear from Search Engine Visibility.

Preliminary Results

Only a month after launching the new website and completing preliminary Search Engine placements, CM has seen their contact rate go from 2 or 3 per month to 2 or three per week. They have appeared now in top 50 search results for relevant terms for which they previously had no exposure like, “continuous furnace”, “muffle furnace”, and “pusher furnace” among many others. As our search placement program progresses, we expect this contact rate to rise much further.

The Micromanipulator Company has a long history of providing the semiconductor industry the high-tech tools and life-cycle support they demand. In 1956 Micromanipulator invented analytical probing, and since then, they have evolved into a leader in the industry. The company’s success stems from the fact that they listen to their clients and learn in order to continually improve.

In the area of digital marketing Micromanipulator has partnered with WSI to achieve leadership position in the search results around the world. The first phase of this project involved making changes to the content of the company’s web site to rank for terms such as:

How to Grow Your Follower Base on Twitter

How to Grow Your Follower Base on Twitter

You’re on Twitter and you’ve followed a lot of people, but people aren’t responding to your tweets or following you back. It probably feels like you’re talking to a wall. Here a five things you can do to increase your follower base on Twitter.

  • Comment on Other People’s Tweets – Seriously. Use hashtags to find content relevant to your niche, connect with others, and comment on their tweets. You’ll gain trust and build connections from others in your niche who will in turn ultimately end up sharing and commenting on our content as well. Look for trending topics whenever possible so that you can be a part of the conversation.
  • Stay Active – You don’t need to be on Twitter all day, every day, but you do need to be active on a regular basis. You can’t spend hours on the platform on Monday and then ditch it until Saturday. Try to spend just a few minutes commenting, favoriting, or retweeting each day. It’s an easy task you can do while in a waiting room or waiting on a phone call.
  • Retweet – Speaking or retweeting – just do it. Find at least one person a day with something relevant to say and retweet someone’s content. They’ll love you for it and a vast majority will eventually do the same for you.
  • Take Advantage of Your LinkedIn Connections – Already have a LinkedIn account? Check this out. Go to “settings” and export your contacts to a .CSV file. Upload the .CSV file to your email contacts list and then use Twitter to import contacts from your email account. You’ll likely find you have dozens of mutual acquaintances on Twitter you just haven’t found yet.
  • Listen to Twitter – Twitter will analyze your content and recommend people for you to follow in the #Discover section of your dashboard page. Check to be sure they have similar interests, follow some of those people, and interact with them. You’ll be surprised at the results this simple underutilized tool can give.

There are, of course, paid options for finding new fans but your best bet is to start with the free tools that encourage a little bit of use and interaction. Need help? Contact us today to find out how WSI New Media Marketing can help you grow your business online!

SALON ELITE ENGAGES WSI FOR A DIGITAL MAKEOVER

Ken Bowden - Monday, June 22, 2015

Salon Elite Ventura

Salon Elite of Ventura is one of the top hair, skin and nail salons in Southern California serving clients from Santa Barbara to Thousand Oaks, California.   They have been in business over 8 years and have a staff of twelve stylists, two estheticians and three nail technicians.

Problem: Salon Elite had an old, unattractive and dated website which they could not modify and did not reflect their high-end clientele. Their website was not mobile-friendly nor was it ranking for any keywords. In addition, the old site did not have a clear way to contact Salon Elite.

Solution: WSI Ventura Web Marketing worked with them to determine their desired look and feel and provided a new, modern, streamlined, mobile-friendly website. In addition, WSI provided a matching Google Plus page to further improve their local presence as local search ranking is critical for any regional business. Google Analytics has been included on their site to track website traffic volume, source of traffic, visitor demographics and key search terms used by their clients.

Results: The owners are extremely happy to have a site that reflects their high-end image and that their customer’s love. Their new site has a clear call to action and looks great on a mobile device which we anticipate more than 50% of their traffic will use.  They can also modify the site to update images and add special event information. WSI will be working with them monthly to review their search ranking in key geographies and Google Analytic data.

About WSI:

WSI is the global leader in digital marketing. On average there are over two billion searches done on Google across the world every single day. Consumers are using the results in search engines to help them make an informed purchasing decision, so if you aren’t ranking in the first page for your specific keywords, you could be missing out on a sale. WSI would be happy to discuss your local SEO, national SEO, or e-commerce SEO goals.
